Where vintage sewing is for everyone.
Where vintage sewing is for everyone.
We are here to answer any printing questions you might have, and to help you troubleshoot any printing issues.
Our print-at-home PDF sewing patterns are formatted to print on both U.S. Letter (8.5 x 11") and A4 sized paper.
To ensure accurate sizing, make sure that your printer settings are set to scale the pages to 100%.
Once printed, simply trim the margins off and tape the pages together following the assembly instructions included with your download files.
These patterns include a pattern booklet, which you can print to any scale, and a few different files with your measuring bands tiled on them.
Always print the measuring bands at 100% scale. Never adjust your margins. The bands will print accurately to both A4 and U.S. letter sized paper at 100% scale.
Page size will vary for every e-book, as we try to keep everything the same size as the original source material.
If you are printing one of our E-books, be sure to set your printer to scale the images to FIT the size of paper you are using.
Some vintage magazine e-books can measure 11 x 14 inches and will need to be printed to a smaller scale to fit.
All of our PDF sewing pattern files have been extensively tested and printed several times from different printers to make sure that they work. (We even have three different printers and two different operating systems in our studio just for this job!).
If you are having trouble printing, it may be a problem with the download process or your computer pdf reader software.
First, make sure that you're not printing directly from a web browser.
They will often over-ride your printer preferences and do as they please.
If that doesn't work, you can try a few things:
1. Delete the file from your computer and download it again. Save it to your computer and open it again with a program like Adobe or Apple Preview (depending on which type of computer that you use) then try printing again.
2. Make sure that your computer is fully updated with the most recent operating systems and versions of Adobe.
3. Try printing the pattern from another printer, or having a friend print for you.
Don’t forget as you print that the printer settings need to be at 100% scale, or the pages will not fit properly.
Please let let us know if none of these solutions work for you and we will try to come up with another solution for you.
When you contact us, please be sure to include details with the type of computer that you use (PC or Mac) as well as what program you’re using to open the file with.
