This is a print-at-home sewing pattern for a gorgeous early 1930s uplift brassiere and bias tap panties.
The bra features three small pleats at the center front seam, shaped cup seams, and a center back closure. Instructions are included for different back closure options including elastic at center back, or ribbon/ elastic variations that loop around to the front waist to suit gowns with low cut backs.
The bias-cut panties are easy to make with a side placket closure and bias-bound edges. There is no gusset at the crotch, just a seam.
Year/ Era: perfect for 1928 to 1934.
This is a completely restored and improved reprint of the scarce Master Designer's System of Cutting Book.
The original book was published in the early 1920s. I have restored each page and added 48 pages of new content to give the 21st century tailor a better understanding of men's tailored clothing at the time. I have included 30 pages of color fashion plates and explanations from the era's tailoring catalogs and also added an extra section on men's shirts.
This is a print-at-home sewing pattern for an early 1930s bandeau bra and tap panties.
The bra features a dart at the center front seam and a fabric-covered elastic center back closure. Straps may be made of self fabric.
This bra can also be made with purchased bra straps and bra backs. We offer some of those here!
The panties are easy to make, cut on a straight grain (not bias) with a side placket closure and bias-bound edges. There is no gusset at the crotch, just a seam.

The history of women is often told through the treasures they made with their own two hands. I was raised in an antique shop and my mother taught her to find the stories of women shining through each loving stitch of the clothes they left behind.
Mrs. Depew Vintage was created to preserve that history through the restoration and rehabilitation of original vintage sewing patterns, as well as reproductions of sewing patterns, books, and magazines.
We have been preserving and selling vintage patterns since 2008 and are proud to offer a very large selection of vintage original and reproduction sewing patterns and books for your enjoyment.
