This is a digital draft-at-home pattern for a stunning French evening gown from 1934. This gown features a halter effect at the front neck with flounce sleeves that form a ruffle of sorts at the low-cut back. The skirt features a rounded slit at the center front that is trimmed with a lovely, fluttering ruffle at the hem for a very dramatic effect.

This gown has so many uses. It would make an amazing, show-stopping wedding dress, the perfect evening gown to put others to shame, or a unique and timeless prom dress.

Fabric: The original source material didn't include this information but an estimate would be approximately 4 meters x 100 cm wide (about 4 1/2 yards 40" wide) fabric for a size 36" bust.

This is a pattern from a French pattern drafting system fairly similar to the Lutterloh golden rule patterns. You will be able to draft a pattern to your exact size from the miniature pattern template and specially designed rulers. To draft any of these special patterns to doll, children, and adult sizes is easy. Rulers are available to draft the pattern as small as a 5 1/2” bust/ hip to as large as a 60” bust/ hip and the pattern will be scaled perfectly every time. ALL RULERS ARE INCLUDED WITH THESE PATTERNS.

The pattern includes basic markings and notches that show you how they fit together, and indications such as dotted lines for cutting on the fold. I have included several pages of instructions that I have translated from the original French personally. The illustrated instructions show you how to easily draw your pattern pieces from the miniature pattern template using your special ruler.

These patterns were marketed originally to both home seamstresses and professionals alike and assume that you have a basic understanding of clothing construction.

DIFFICULTY LEVEL: ADVANCED.

The evening gown patterns are a bit more complex than our average patterns, especially as these come with no actual sewing instructions. Please keep this in mind as you purchase. As much as we try to offer technical support with our patterns, we got lots of emails every day so please don't be disappointed if we can't answer your sewing questions on these.
